Our tickets are re-purchased and we are eagerly anticipating our departure on August 1! We are excited, a bit overwhelmed, and trying to wrap our brains around finally going after 4 months of limbo.

FAREWELL PARTY

We’d love to connect with you before we take off and have been trying to figure out the best ways to do this and maintain social distancing. Because of that, we’re planning a “PANDEMIC STYLE” farewell party with a drive through to say goodbye. We hope you’ll be able to stop by and chat for a few minutes!

Our sending team is planning some goodies and things to make it special and we’re really looking forward to hopefully seeing as many of you as we can in person before we move.

THE LAST YEAR

It’s been a year since we made a commitment to our new Counseling Center and began the process of “going.” Preparing to move overseas is no joke. If you’ve ever done this, you’ll likely remember the crazy schedules during fundraising seasons, the tears, the saying goodbyes and the myriad of details to get in order before you jump on that plane.

We can see His hand written all over these last 13 months. From funds coming in so quickly to generosity and support helping buoy us when we felt overwhelmed to the steadiness we’ve experienced in some of the recent upheavals… the going is hard, yes. But it’s also a testament of the One who has led us this far.

STEP BY STEP

There’s a quote attributed to Lao Tzu that says, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” We’ve always loved that, but it feels a lot more present now as we see the long journey of transitioning cultures, learning a language and acclimating to a new lifestyle ahead. In some ways we feel ready for this, and in others, totally unprepared. But we take each step by faith and know that we’re following in good footsteps.
